I'll talk to her tonight and go through these things to see what we can figure out. I know the keys are genuine as she managed to validate but can't quite activate she's a little behind with the times as her system is at least 5 years old and she's still on dialup :p It's not as if she can afford a new system or high speed. If it does need activating then you as another user said just need to find it within the system tools menu but I doubt that it does as it self activates during set up assuming she entered the product key during set up that is.

Just had a thought. I'm currently making a virtual machine just now on vmware. What if I copied the activation file thingy you know the actual program that should load up when trying to activate could I not send that to her instead? Basically replace the files on her system with my own? I found a program called TeamViewer which should give me access to her machine too. Can't edit my post now.
